Siamo convinti che il miglior modo per visitare Roma sia con i trasporti pubblici e dove possibile a piedi; questo vi permetterà di scoprire la vostra Roma, un angolo di una strada o una piazzetta nascosta.

A Roma ci sono diverse linee di autobus, tram, due linee di metro (A e B) e diverse ferrovie metropolitane, tutti utilizzabili con gli ordinari biglietti validi nella città. Potete trovare tutte le informazioni in proposito su www.atac.roma.it, anche con un adettagliate descrizione delle diverse tipologie di biglietti acquistabili, dai giornalai o tabbbaccai e presso le emettitrici automatiche nelle stazioni della metro oltre che ovviamente nelle biglietterie presenti nella maggior parte delle stazioni della metro

I line generale esistono quattro principali tipologie di biglietto per viaggiare sui mezzi pubblici a Roma:

- il BIT (€ 1,00) che dura 75 minuti dalla timbratura;

- il BIG (€ 4,00) che dura l'intera giornata, fino alle ore 24.00, per un numero illimitato di viaggi;

- il BTI (€ 11,00) -biglietto turistico integrato- valido per 3 giorni dalla data della prima timbratura, ovvero fino alle ore 24.00 del terzo giorno compreso quello della timbratura, e per un numero illimitato di viaggi ;

- la Carta Integrata Settimanale (€ 16,00) valida 7 giorni dalla data della prima timbratura, ovvero fino alle ore 24.00 del settimo giorno compreso quello della timbratura, e per un numero illimitato di viaggi.

Ricordate poi che i bambini fino a dieci anni, accompagnati da un adulto, normalmente viaggiano gratis .

Transport in Rome

We think the best way to vist Rome is with public transport and by feet; in that way you will discover your own Roma, behind a corner or in a littel square in the ancient center.

In Rome there are many bus lines, two lines of metro (A an B) and several urban railway; you can find most information about public transportation in Roma on www.atac.roma.it also with a deteiled description of the different types of tickets; you can buy it at newspaper kiosk and at automatic machines or ticket office on every metro station.

Anyway there are four principal types of tickets:

BIT - Integrated Time Ticket

€ 1.0

It last for 75 minutes

On public transport within Rome:
on buses, trams, trolleybuses and Cotral coaches
on the metro lines A and B (for one journey only, using both lines but without going out from the turnstiles)
on Met.Ro regional trains: Rome–Lido, Rome–Viterbo, Rome–Pantano
on Trenitalia regional trains (for one journey only, in one direction only, travelling second class)

BIG – Integrated Daily Ticket

€ 4.00 It last until midnight (24.00) of the day of its validation and for an unrestricted number of journeys.

On public transport within Rome:
on buses, trams, trolleybuses and Cotral coaches
on the metro lines A and B
on Met.Ro regional trains: Rome–Lido, Rome–Viterbo, Rome–Pantano
on Trenitalia regional trains (travelling second class)

BTI – Integrated Tourist Ticket

€ 11.0

It last for 3 days

You can use it on public transport within Rome:
on buses, trams, trolleybuses and Cotral coaches
on the metro lines A and B
on Met.Ro regional trains: Rome–Lido, Rome–Viterbo, Rome–Pantano
on Trenitalia regional trains (travelling second class)

CIS – Integrated Weekly Ticket

€ 16.00

It last for 7 days from the date indicated by the ticket holder and for an unrestricted number of journeys.

On public transport within Rome:

on buses, trams, trolleybuses and Cotral coaches
on the metro lines A and B
on Met.Ro regional trains: Rome–Lido, Rome–Viterbo, Rome–Pantano
on Trenitalia regional trains (travelling second class)

Moreover remember that children, until 10 years,that goes with an adult can travel without paying.
